About
Daily Music Gems started from a simple frustration: most music writing online is either a reflexive hot take or a press-release rewrite. Neither actually engages with how the music is made.
This site is my attempt to do something slower and more useful — treat every artist's style as something worth taking apart carefully: their choices in production, structure, vocal delivery, arrangement, and how those choices change from one release to the next. The goal is criticism that's constructive, even when it's critical — writing that could actually help an artist, a producer, or a curious listener understand the craft better.
Alongside the writing, I'm building out playlists across Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud — the same ear applied to curation instead of prose.
